Why EmerrBio

One Platform, Every Living System You Depend On

Most biologicals companies specialise in a single industry — an agri-input manufacturer, an aquafeed additive supplier, a probiotics contract manufacturer. EmerrBio was built differently. One integrated 22,000-litre fermentation platform, one in-house strain-isolation lab, and one quality system serve four industries at once: human health, agriculture, aquaculture and animal health. The same spore-forming Bacillus that stabilises a soil biofertiliser also stabilises a livestock feed additive; the same lactic-acid bacterium that supports a human gut also conditions a shrimp pond. A healthy microbiome is manufactured the same way everywhere — precisely, consistently, and at scale.

Built On One Integrated Platform

EmerrBio manufactures probiotics, nutraceutical ingredients, agricultural biologicals, aquaculture inputs and animal-health biologicals from one integrated fermentation platform in Mumbai, India. Our technical and quality capability is anchored by a full-fledged in-house lab and an R&D team trained across global biotechnology hubs, including the United States and Singapore, alongside proprietary fermentation and stabilisation technology developed in-house to improve yield efficiency and microbial survival.

What Makes EmerrBio Different

Four Reasons Buyers Choose to Work With Us

One Platform, Four Industries

The same fermentation platform, in-house lab and quality system produce probiotics, agricultural biologicals, aquaculture inputs and animal-health biologicals — cross-industry scale most single-industry suppliers can't match.

Evidence You Can Check

Every product page on this site cites real, peer-reviewed research — and states plainly where a finding is strain-specific, mixed, or doesn't yet apply to EmerrBio's own strain. We'd rather tell you what the science shows than oversell it.

Discovery to Commercial Scale

EmerrBio doesn't only manufacture already-known species. Our in-house strain-isolation lab can identify and characterise new candidate organisms from scratch, then take them from bench to 10,000-litre commercial fermentation.

Documented Quality, India-Made

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis, Safety Data Sheet and batch-wise QC record. Manufactured in Mumbai, India, with Feed Additive, FSSAI and Coastal Aquaculture Authority registrations already in hand, and built for export.

A Core Strength

Where EmerrBio's Products Actually Begin

Every product across this site — every EmerrGrow, EmerrAqua and EmerrThrive active, every strain in the EmerrBiome human portfolio — starts the same way: as an organism identified, isolated and characterised in EmerrBio's own microbiology lab. Most manufacturers in this space license or buy in already-known, already-characterised strains and simply produce them at scale. EmerrBio can do that too — but it can also do the step before it, which is rarer and harder for a competitor to replicate: find and vet a genuinely new candidate strain starting from a raw sample, in our full-fledged in-house lab. See CRO Services for the full breakdown of that capability.

The Pipeline: Sample to Characterised Strain

STEP 01

Isolation

Candidate organisms are cultured and isolated from environmental or biological samples — soil, plant material, gut or fermented-food sources — using selective and enrichment culturing techniques.

STEP 02

Morphological & Biochemical ID

Gram staining, colony and cell morphology, and biochemical test panels narrow each isolate to a likely genus and species.

STEP 03

Molecular ID

16S rRNA sequencing (and whole-genome sequencing where warranted) confirms species- and strain-level identity with a certainty morphology alone cannot provide.

STEP 04

Functional & Safety Characterization

Candidate strains are screened for the functional trait of interest and for safety — including antibiotic-resistance and pathogenicity screening — before any strain is considered for scale-up.

Two Ways This Capability Is Put to Work

Internal R&D engine

The same pipeline that discovers and vets new candidate strains for EmerrBio's own EmerrGrow, EmerrAqua, EmerrThrive and EmerrBiome ranges, continuously expanding what EmerrBio can manufacture.

Custom strain development for clients

A client can bring a sample — soil from a specific region, a gut or environmental source, a traditional fermented food — or simply a target trait they are trying to solve for, and EmerrBio runs the same isolation-to-characterisation pipeline exclusively on their behalf.

How an engagement actually runs: timelines and deliverables are assessed project by project — the right scope depends on the sample, the target trait, and how much characterisation a candidate strain needs before it is viable. A typical engagement produces a full characterisation report (taxonomic identification plus a functional and safety profile), with strain banking and a scale-up fermentation trial as an optional next step. Not every isolation attempt yields a commercially viable candidate — that possibility is part of any genuine discovery process, and we would rather say so than promise a guaranteed outcome.

Why This Is a Genuine Strength

A contract manufacturer who can only produce strains someone else already discovered is replaceable by the next contract manufacturer with the same fermentation tanks. A partner who can also find and vet a new strain — one that is genuinely proprietary to the client who commissioned it — is offering something much harder to shop around for. That is the capability behind every range on this site, and it is available directly to buyers who want a strain of their own.
